NFL 2017 Week 2 Draftking Cash game results
Week 2 was much more high scoring and exciting. I felt like I had a good handle on the games. I am primarily a tournament player giving cash games a try this season. My username on Draftkings. Fanduel and Fantasy Draft is Carolinakid1973. On Yahoo it’s Jman. Ok, let’s get to the breakdown. I narrowed down my quarterbacks down to Drew Brees and Tom Brady. I went with Drew Brees because he was at home and we all know his home/road splits are enormous. He also was a little cheaper.
Running Back was tough. I didn’t feel comfortable paying all the way up to Le’Veon Bell. Jacquizz Rodgers and Ty Montgomery were in great spots but I wanted to get a high-end running back in my lineup and ended up putting Ezekiel Elliot in one of my RB slots. What a mistake. Denver held him to 9 yards rushing. I didn’t see that coming. There were better options such as Melvin Gordon. You typically want to target a running back playing at home who either is a slight favorite or heavily involved in all phases. Playing Elliot was a mistake.
My wide receivers were Tyreek Hill, JJ Nelson, and Marquise Lee. Although Hill did not meet expectations, I still feel really good about all 3 plays. JJ Nelson provided the upside I expected. I also put Julio Jones in my flex spot. He had an okay game with over 18 points. Hindsight is 20-20 but Karem Hunt would have been a better move.
My TE was Cameron Brate who had a lackluster performance with just 4.4 points. The Seattle defense rounded out my lineup scoring 8 points. I ended up scoring 124.84 points was just good enough to win just 1 of the 6 head to head contest I entered. Compare that with my top tournament team which scored 185 points. I need to clean up my obvious mistakes and I think I will show better results in cash games.
