Are you ready for some basketball?

The NBA season kicks off today with a small two game slate featuring 4 of the teams most talented teams. Clevland welcomes Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics in the first game of the evening. The Houston Rockets visits the defending champions Golden State Warriors in the second game of the evening. If you are playing DFS, you should limit your play to a few GPP’s and avoid cash games. There will be a lot of overlapping lineups where one player will make a difference between winning and losing cash games.

DFS NBA has softer competetion early in the season. The professional are focused on football and their are many casual players who play NFL throwing in lineups. After Christmas, the cash lines go up and it becomes more difficult. If you are new to NBA DFS now is the time to learn the game. I am primary a tournament player. However, for the NBA, the 100 man 50/50 cash game has been very profitable early in the season.

NBA is a stats driven league. You want minutes, usage and a fast pace. Check the Vegas odds to see which games are projected to be highscoring. Value plays-are there players that are undervalued or filling in due to injuries? Tonights game is a perfect example. Rookie Jayson Tatum is starting for Boston in place of the injured Marcus Morris.  He is minimum price on most sites with starters minutes. He needs to be on your radar.

Notable Injury Notes:

Lebron dealing with a sore ankle. Game time decision.

Draymond Green – Back Expected to Play

Marcus Morris – Out Knee expected back 10-24

Isaiah Thomas-Out Hip Expected back 12-25

Aron Baynes-Knee Game Time Decision

Andre Iguodala-  Back Game Time Decision. If he sits Patrick McCaw would benefit.

The NBA wouldn’t be the NBA without the court drama. Kyrie Irving goes back to face the music on the opening night. Did the schedule makers know something? I wasn’t a big fan of the move but getting it out of the way opening night, I think is big and should get all the chatter and animosity out of the way so that he can have a good season. Boston only returns 4 players from last year team, it will be interesting to see how quickly this team can gel. For more on the Kyrie’s return to Clevland checkout the Yahoo article below.
